Exotic Species

Lingering heat...
an exotic species of bamboo
along the garden path

Unexpected breeze
carp open-mouthed in the stream

Complainingー
a family finds seats
on the train

Is the black-robed priest
late for a funeral?

The old sprinkler
"shaka" "shaka" "shaka"
as it begins to turn

A farmer pisses
next to his little fire

Sunsetー
fallen twigs
with green acorns

Pluto
demoted

The crickets
and the owl
under the moon

More rouge on her lips
as she awaits his call
